White verdejo DO Rueda
I have also made a Verdejo wine white in Rueda as a result of the curiosity I experienced the first time I tried those wines. A varietal rich in aromas and with infinite winemaking possibilities.
I realized that the number of bottles on the market was not proportional to the number of wineries nor of hectares of vineyard. There was excessive production. I experimented until I found a balance between density of feet/hectares and kilos of grapes. The altitude of the vineyard, more than 750 meters, produces a contrast of day/night temperatures during the ripening season that favors the creation of aromas. All of this allows me to extract the wine’s maximum expression as reflected in the bottle.
Aromas of anise and of fennel, with ripe white flowers. Good structure on the palate. Ample, full, and pleasant on the palate with a fresh finish and a sour note typical of this varietal.
