De cap a peus
White wine DO Empordà
De Cap a Peus is a catalan idiom to refer when someone or something is full, then as its name suggests a full wine, local and mediterranean authentic. From selected vineyards in the Garriguella area, Alt Empordà. Area without water reserves. Maturation should be achieved with the March, April and May rain reserves. Early or white varieties are best suited for these conditions.
Garriguella has some clay and slate soils. This blend gives very expressive and mineral-rich wines and enhances varietal aromas, always following rational criteria of pruning, kilos of grapes per vine and optimal time of harvest.
This great wine is made with the local varieties of white Grenache 50% and Macabeo 50%. Macabeo spends 4 months in new French oak, looking for unctuousness in the mouth, kindness and roundness when drinking it.
It has mineral aromas, phosphorus and hydrocarbons. White flowers, orange and almond blossoms. Ripe apples and walnut skin. Honey notes. In the mouth it is fresh, Grenache present and the wine persistent.
